CGGE Glass contest

Not only do I LOVE soap but I LOVE glass! I am known as the Torch lady. :)

I decided to enter into the CGGE contest for April. Theme is Spring!
I could have done the normal spring flowers (I had created a tulip for this contest), but I decided to go with another idea.....a Frog!
They are born in the spring and to me a frog represents new life, new beginning, fresh start. All of this gives us....SPRING!

Please come a vote for you favorite piece! (I am known as AjJewelry)

Gift baskets

I finally put my gift baskets together!! Just in time for Mother's day! The a stuffed full of wonderful goodies for you skin.

Each basket contains:
4 soaps (each one is different, shaving soaps, massage soaps, luxury soaps....)
2 washcloths (one regular size and one facial mini)
2 lip balms
1 milk bath

The total items are over a $25 value (closer to $30)

I just love how the baskets turned out! not only are the full of pampering items, but they come in a beautiful gift basket. I found these little purse like baskets, but they weren't so cute.... nope they had the foamy strange flower thingys on the front. Pretty tacky, however I could see that they had potential.... I love how each basket is lined with material (that it what caught my eye). I bought them and ripped the thingys off, added my own embellishments and as you can see, they are now beautiful!

There is a little room in each basket, you can add more items (soaps, tea baths, flower shower puffs, jewelry, etc....) to them if you would like. Since they are being shipped in a flat rate box, there is room for more items in the box....I will refund any shipping on the other items.

Natural Laundry soap

My Natural Laundry Soap is safe for your family & the environment.
One tablespoon cleans a super size load.!!!!(Very soiled clothes may take 2 tablespoons)
Here are some more reasons to use Natural Laundry Soap:
✻100% ALL natural ingredients
✻No Petroleum based cleaning agents
✻Completely biodegradable, so it's not harmful to plumbing, septic tanks, or the natural environment.
✻Works great in any temperature
✻You do not need to add fabric softeners- clothes are soft without it and smell wonderful! (I recommend not to, synthetic fabric softener leave behind a build up which reduces the water absorbency of textiles.)
✻Great for all skin types
✻Universal cleaner- You can use this to wash you dishes, floors and walls.

Laundry Tip:
If you have hard water or find that you do need to add a little fabric softener try Vinegar. Not only is it a cheap alternative to commercial fabric softener, but it is not harmful to the environment and your laundry will come out soft and cling-free.

Did You Know?
Commercial fabric softener builds up on your towels over time, making them less absorbent.

How:
Adding 1/2 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle of your washing machine Vinegar works naturally to soften your laundry and has the added benefit of breaking down laundry detergent very effectively. This added benefit means less detergent sensitive allergies for families that struggle with sensitive skin. Don't be put off by the fragrance of vinegar. The odor disappears when vinegar dries. So go ahead and try a bottle of vinegar in place of your laundry softener.

Want to stretch out your natural soap? Get more for your money? Try turning your powder laundry soap to liquid laundry soap! It takes little work and practice, but once you have done it successfully, you will want to continue making it.

1 cup of my natural laundry soap
1 gallon of distilled water (16 c per gallon)
Large pot
Add 1 gallon of distilled water to large pot, mix in the 1 c soap. Do not use a wood spoon unless you are going to dedicate it to laundry soap making. Stainless steel is a better alternative. Heat water and soap mixture to almost boiling. DO NOT boil! It will foam right over the top of the pan. Heat until ALL of the soap is dissolved. Let cool to a warm temperature. Pour back into the distilled gallon. every few hours shake the container to mix the soap up. Let sit over night. You may see little lumps, this it normal and will work just fine in the washer. Shake the soap before each uses to mix the soap.
1/2 c per load= 32 loads per gallon and 64 loads per laundry soap bag!
You can double the loads for your money!

My little Plum tree

Last year for Mother's day my children gave me 3 fruit trees. This year they are blooming! I armed myself with my faithful 7 yr old camera and stepped out in the sunshine (about time!). A few clicks and I capture my plum trees little blossoms. These are just a few of what I took. I am thinking of making a set of cards and one of my Asian Plum soaps in a little gift basket for gifts.......

Asian Plum

~Asian Plum~A harmonious blend of Plum, Orchid, Daffodil, Jasmine, Musk and Vanilla
This is a fabulous scent. Hint of spice and sweetness. One of my personal favorites!
I love making layered soaps, however with using natural soap, it can be a little tricky. Sometimes the layers do not want to adhere together! I lucked out and it turn out great!!
Would be a great gift for a wonderful mom. :)

Where is Spring??

Normally I post about my soaps...but OMG! This morning I woke up and went outside to go to the Gym at 5am (yes crazy but so worth it!) and there was Snow...3 inches!
My poor tree that I have babied for the last 7 years was so covered that I have to take my broom hit some of the snow out. I was afraid that the weight of the snow would break the branches.
So this weekend we are to have warm weather again and be back into the high 60's and low 70's! Cold city here we come...... :(
I am going to spend my day making goats milk soap and linen spray. Drinking my HOT coffee and wishing for warmer weather!

Natural ~hint of honey scent due to the natural beeswax
Peppermint ~contains Peppermint EO

French Vanilla

My lip balms are not made from a purchased based. Instead I have developed a all natural base from scratch. It contains bees wax from local bee keepers. (Try to support my local community as much as possible), cocoa butter, shea butter, sweet almond oil, olive oil, vitamin E~all those skin/lip loving ingredients!

I had to revamp my labels, they are now waterproof! They are also unisex....my husband was not very excited to carry around a "girly" lip balm. So we came up with a simple but classic look that should appeal to all. I need to retake my photo....it is a little "girly". :)

Wonderful Skin loving Goats milk and Shea Butter soaps

Wonderful Skin loving Goats milk and Shea Butter soaps! I LOVE goat’s milk soap!!!

My soap is made from goats milk, not the store stuff either…straight from a farm. I rebatch the goat’s milk soap and add all kinds of wonderful ingredients. It has a wonderful lather and is very gentle for all skin types. I have used this soap on my infants and highly recommend.. Now please remember that soap is soap and it does burn if it gets in your eyes.

It has a natural earthy/nutty scent to it. I use scents that blend with this scent. It natural color varies from a light tan to a medium brown. In the beginning I tried to add colors to my soap, well let’s just say they were not really pretty! So I now just work with its natural color, letting its natural beauty come through.

Here are the 3 new goat’s milk soaps in my shop.
